In 2023, the Safeguarding Health in Conflict Coalition (SHCC) documented 2,562 incidents of violence against or obstruction of health care in conflicts across 30 countries or regions within countries, or territories—over 500 more than in 2022, which constitutes a 25% increase

Ignoring Red Lines: Violence Against Healthcare in Conflict 2022
The SHCC released its tenth annual report, documenting the global incidence of attacks and threats against health workers. Incidents increased by 45% in 2022 compared to 2021 and marked the highest annual number of incidents that the SHCC has recorded since it began tracking such violence.
