Safeguarding Health in ConfLict Coalition

PROTECTING HEALTH WORKERS, SERVICES, AND INFRASTRUCTURE

It has been a decade since UN Security Council Resolution 2286 was unanimously adopted. To honor our decade of work and continue to close this gap, the SHCC is advocating for concrete action by the UN Secretary-General and member states, better data reporting, and a stronger alliance of states, UN agencies, and civil society. To advance these goals, we developed two key documents for our 2026 advocacy efforts.

We developed two key documents for our advocacy in 2026:
  • Call to Action — Directed at the UN Secretary General and member states, we call for 4 concrete steps to leverage their platforms for action.
  • A New Alliance Proposal — A policy memo outlining the structure, composition, and mandate of a proposed global coalition of member states, UN agencies, and civil society organizations committed to protecting healthcare in armed conflict.
